DRAMA AND SCHOOL PLAYS

• Meetings will be after school
• Drama is open to any student, but an interview and audition is required. JHS students can taste the experience of the theater by being a part of a school play. During the fall and spring semesters students have the opportunity to audition for speaking parts, stage crew, and musicians, etc.

INTERNATIONAL THESPIAN SOCIETY (ITS)

• Meeting times announced by Mrs. Schurman
• ITS is an organization that is offered to students who do outstanding work in theatre. The International Thespian Society supports theatre productions, has social events, and attends the Missouri State Thespian convention. The ITSS sponsors a family at Thanksgiving and volunteers for bell ringing at Christmas. Students earn membership through theater productions.

JTV

• Meetings in class
• JTV is a show produced by the students in Television Production class. JTV is a 30-minute show put together by students. The program covers events in the Joplin Community and topics of interest to Joplin High School students. JTV airs on JET14 TV on Cable One. Students work with cameras, reporting, and movie-making software.

NATIONAL FORENSIC LEAGUE (NFL)

• Meetings are after school
• NFL is for students who enjoy arguing a point, committed to research, and enjoy debate. This club prepares student for speeches and debate tournaments.
