JHS Building Professional Development Committee

The JHS Building Professional Development Committee (PDC) is composed of six to eight faculty members and an administrator. The committee meets early in each school year to propose a plan for building professional development. The building plan is approved annually by the district professional development committee. Once the plan is approved, the building PDC reviews and approves requests for staff members to attend conferences and to make various school visits. Both proposed professional development and actual expenditures of professional development funds must align with building and district goals.

In addition to coordinating the building plan, this committee also collects individual evaluations from faculty members who attend conferences or make school visits and evaluates each building professional development function. The committee also assists the building principal in setting the program for two annual building-wide professional development faculty meetings.
