National Staff Development Council (NSDC)
The National Staff Development Council (NSDC) is a national non-profit association. The NSDC is committed to ensuring success for all students by applying high standards for professional development for everyone who is involved in student learning. The Council believes high-quality staff development programs are essential for schools.
According to NSDC, effective staff development focuses on the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of teachers, administrators, and other school employees so that all students can learn and be challenged to perform at high levels. NSDC professes that staff development includes high-quality and ongoing training programs with intensive follow-up and support. In addition, NSDC believes that many other growth-promoting processes such as study groups, action research, and peer coaching are essential to the overall success of professional development plan.
The mission of the NSDC is to ensure success for all students by serving as the international network for the education professionals who are responsible for improving schools.
