One Lucky JHS Senior Will Win!
JHS administration & Roper KIA in Joplin have teamed up for a promotion that will award a JHS senior student a new KIA compact vehicle at the conclusion of their senior year. This promotion is designed to reward one lucky senior student who:
- has an academic focus their senior year
- attends school everyday and is on time for school and assigned classes
- displays good citizenship qualities, and
- is involved with their school or community.
Senior students may become eligible for this drawing when the following criteria are met:
- Academics: Seniors students must attain a 2.5 grade point average for their senior year (this grade point average is not their accumulative GPA.) MO options students will be eligible.
- Attendance: Seniors can miss up to a total of six (6) days for the entire school year. The absence limit does not include absences associated with school-sponsored activities (field trips, extra-curricular participation or college visits). Students are allotted three (3) tardies to class and/or school per semester and still remain eligible for the drawing.
Extended medical absences will be reviewed by a committee. - Discipline: No office referrals or consequences of a serious nature for the school year. This includes: After-School Discipline (ASD), In-School Detention (ISD), or Out-of-School Suspension (OSS).
- Service: Students must be involved in at least two (2) activities, at least 4 hours of community service work, which can result from multiple combinations of the following: extra-curricular activities sponsored by the school, or volunteer service in the community.
