Five JHS Students Accepted into Missouri Scholars Academy
Five Joplin High School students – Nathan Fisher, Corey Hounschell, Vivian Moreno, Stewart Pence, and David Purser – have been accepted into the Missouri Scholars Academy. These five will be among approximately 330 students attending as members of the 2009 Academy class. The Academy will be held June 7 - June 27, 2009 on the campus of the University of Missouri-Columbia.

The Missouri Scholars Academy was established to provide educational experiences and enrichment opportunities, which may differ significantly from those provided in the more traditional high school setting. The Academy is administered by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education through funds appropriated by the Missouri General Assembly.
