About JET-14
A TV Station is Born...
The Joplin School District launched JET-14 (Joplin Eagles Television) on March 1st, 2005.
The district received a Funds for Improvement in Education Grant from the Department of Education with which to purchase over $180,000 worth of industry-standard television equipment for students to utilize in operating the station. The 1300 square foot television studio was provided by Mr. Timothy T. Reynolds through the C. W. Titus Foundation, and Cable One offered the district a cable channel to broadcast on. The JET-14 studio is located on the JHS campus, connected to the Timothy T. Reynolds Multimedia Center (built in 1997).
Joplin High School currently offers six periods per day in Television Production. The district has a ten-year history of producing programming and broadcasting live Board of Education meetings to the Joplin community.
