Technology in the Classroom
At Joplin High School, we understand that our students must be able to use technology effectively to live, learn, and work successfully in an increasingly complex and information-rich society. As a leader in technology initiatives, JHS is focused on the effective integration of technology into the instructional process.
With a 2.5 to 1 student-to-computer ratio, Joplin High School offers Internet-connected computers in all classrooms, wireless services for students and staff, and a variety of proven technology integration strategies in the classroom. Thanks to district-wide instructional technology programs like iTEK, technology tools such as interactive white boards, handheld computers, and high-end laptops are also made available to JHS students and educators.
TV Production Studio and JET-14 Cable Channel
Joplin High School students who are interested in TV production and broadcasting enjoy learning in our new 1300 square foot, fully-equipped television studio! Located here on the JHS campus, we operate our very own cable channel (JET-14) from the studio twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. We offer three levels of TV production classes in which students create, edit, and produce their own segments such as news, sports, and much more using cutting edge equipment and software.
