Credit Recovery

The Students On Academic Recovery (SOAR) Program provides opportunities to recover credit in order to remain on track for graduation. Virtual Prescriptive Learning (VPL) Night School and Summer School classes are two components of this program.

SOAR Night School

Joplin High School offers night classes for Students On Academic Recovery. SOAR Night School takes place weekly, Monday through Thursday, from 3:15 pm to 5:15 pm. Students may see their counselors to sign up for Virtual Prescriptive Learning (VPL) computer-aided instruction.

Summer School

Joplin High School offers summer school to students for credit recovery during the month of June. Each course carries one-half unit of credit. Core academic and many elective course courses are taught via the Virtual Prescriptive Learning (VPL) computerized instruction format. Physical Education is offered in both June and July and stresses overall fitness. For more information about summer school, please contact the guidance office.
