JHS EAGLE SOCCER
Soccer has a long history of success at Joplin High School. The boys program started back in the 1970’s. Boys’ Soccer is held during the Fall season, playing 18 games and two tournaments. The season culminates in early November with the District Playoffs. The boys’ varsity team boasts multiple seasons with fifteen or more wins. They brought home the District Championship in 2004 and were runner up in 2006. Many players have moved on to play at the college level.
Varsity Girls’ Soccer started in 1995 at Joplin High School. They play during the Spring season, with a full 20 game schedule, including two tournaments. The season culminates with District Playoffs in May. They have been very competitive the last few years in the Ozark Conference. Several of the girls have gone on to play college soccer.
The Boys’ season begins on the first day allowed for practice by MSHSAA usually in early August. The Girls’ season begins on the first day allowed for practice by MSHSSA, which is usually the last Monday in February. Athletes are expected to have all their forms turned in on or before that first official day of practice. Forms are available in the Athletic Director’s office at the High School.
Finally, the coaches and alumni put on two weeks of free camp each summer. More information about dates, times and location will be on the Schedules page.
